Anfang -- Beginning
Vorläufer (click to enlarge)
He began as most living beings do – with a cry. A shout lost in the vacuum of space as his body tore forth from a single eruption of light. Just like the phenomenon that birthed him, he had no name, no family, all he had was himself; a sentient figure of pure, untainted energy. It is unknown how or why he was created, but the original energy that ignited his life would come to be called ‘Vorläufer’.
At first he remained adrift in the isolation of space, with no direction or desires, he simply lived. Time had no concept amidst the billions of faraway stars glistening around him. He did not yearn for consolation, his mind did not know what it was to experience friendship; he was alone, but not lonely.

Sonne -- Sun
After endless eons of observing through the vastness of space, and thinking without any prose in the mind to match what his sight witnessed, he began to feel an odd sensation, a need to see more. Wonder and amazement at the cosmos around him had suddenly sparked his natural curiosity, and the being discovered his ability to manipulate the intense energies that made up the fabrics of his body.
The being advanced his control over himself down to the very core, and he moved towards a single star that blinked at him for hundreds of years. He didn’t know why this singular sphere of plasma was more prominent amongst the mass, but he no longer was content with watching it from afar. He travelled forward in his newfound desire to meet the sun.

Einschlag -- Impact
The being crashing down to Earth (click to enlarge)
He didn’t know how long or how far he had journeyed on his exodus to the forever dawned star, but upon entering its system, he became overwhelmed by its beauty, its power. It was the first instance he had ever beheld energy as great as his own, aside from the Vorläufer. But before he could truly meet the star, he noticed too late that another celestial body had moved to meet him – a meteoroid. He was instantly caught against the momentum of the space rock, and sent plummeting with it into a nearby planet’s atmosphere, before impacting into vast grassland with the force of 10 megatons.
Erde -- Earth
Moments after the impact were vague and clouded. He remembered seeing with his hazy vision, large creatures with thick shaggy hair across their hide, and great tusks. The world around him was bright in contrast to the universe he had known. Where was he? Like those who lived upon land and then dove into the depths of the sea, he had discovered an entire new world within a larger existence.
Moments passed, and day turned into night – revealing a sight that was familiar to him. He gazed at the millions of stars above, and came to notice the large creatures from earlier had returned. They approached closer than before, attracted to the being’s heat that pierced through the cold night. Eventually all creatures of different shapes and sizes wandered out from nearby woods, and gathered around him. Suddenly, he knew what it meant to know company.

Kamerad -- Comrade
The first fragment.
The being had impacted upon the land that would later be known as Arizona. At the time, the region was cold, damp, and layered with grassland. Home to mammals such as woolly mammoths and giant ground sloths, the land was void of any advanced sentient life, other than him. Curious, he started to wander across vast distances.
Though his mind had no means to voice mathematics, he counted how many times day turned into night, while encountering several odd animal species, and on the 14,244,446th day, he met a new kind of creature.
He had seen similar mammals before, but these were different somehow; more intelligent. They spoke with odd sounds and grunts, and possessed crafted tools for hunting and creating their own source of heat. They were primitive, with long black hair and large cranium. Out of curiosity, the being followed and observed the pack of creatures.
On the 14,244,453rd day he watched them fight against a far larger and ferocious animal, he knew they were desperate for food, since they had not eaten in several of the days he had counted. One male collapsed to the ground, and was soon to be trampled upon before his intervention.
At first the primitive feared the being’s body of fire more so than the large predator they were hunting, and ran. The being killed the predator easily, and left its carcass for the primitives to return later and devour it. He, however, continued on his own.
On the 14,244,496th night, the being noticed a figure out in the distance, hiding behind bushes. The primitive male he saved had followed him on his own. By the 14,244,512th day, they had bonded, and the being gained his first friendship.
To make the primitive less anxious, the being had adapted his body of energy into that of a similar appearance to the male; giving himself long black hair, skin, and basic facial features – he had become human.
Time went on, and the being noticed the primitive deteriorating into age, and eventually died. For the first time he felt the sensation of hollowness, and he journeyed endlessly in an attempt to stop the sinking inside.

The 'Camellia of Katsuragi' (椿の葛城)
Thousands of years passed with travelling, and endless millennia of solitude had made him naturally estranged from the rest of the world. Despite the years, and new acquired knowledge that made him capable of speaking, fighting, and essentially living in the world of the humans, the being still remained without a name.
He finally settled in Japan, where he lived alone in the countryside, often leaving a path of dead bandits in his wake. His eyes eventually matched the colour of blood that they always reflected, earning him the moniker of the ‘Demon-Eyed Man’ amongst the local folk. It was during this time that his abode was located on Mt. Yamato-Katsuragi, in the Katsuragi district of the ancient Yamato Province.
During a sunny, hot day, the being followed his usual path through the fields upon which he encountered several bandits blocking the way. After giving them an initial warning to step aside, which was instantly laughed at, he slaughtered them and moved on before coming across a destroyed imperial convoy. The bandits had pillaged everything, and killed several guards, but tiny breaths drew him closer to the scene.
A small girl had hidden well amongst the carts, and stared up at the red-eyed figure now dripping with the bandits’ blood. Unlike most, the girl was not afraid of him, and instead smiled before introducing herself as Kashikiya. She told him his eyes were like the crimson seen in camellia, and that from that point on, whenever she would hear the people whisper of the Demon-Eyed Man, she would instead think of him as the ‘Camellia of Katsuragi’ – Tsubaki no Katsuragi
(椿の葛城).The being found the name to be perfect expression of his nature, and adopted it. Decades later, Tsubaki saw the girl again, though she too would be called by a different name – ‘Empress’.

Kämpfe -- Battles
Sometime between meeting the girl and meeting the woman she had grown to become, Tsubaki joined the Soga clan and lived amongst the humans of fuedal japan. He participated in several battles and caused mass carnage on the battlefields, often receiving praise and fear in equal parts due to his ferocious speed and strength and general prowess with a blade. Tsubaki remained a part of the Soga clan for a few decades afterward. After the death of Emperor Jomei, Tsubaki removed himself from the Soga clan and moved away from Japan and travelled west. Roughly a decade later, he found himself in Sicily, amongst the arabic invaders who remained on the island for several years before returning home.
Tsubaki was present during the invasion and even had a direct influence in the failure of Olympius, the Byzantine exarch of Ravenna, in his attempt to oust the islamic invaders. During the next few decades, mention of the 'Demon' that had assisted the Islamic invasions dwindled until nearly a century later when Habib ibn Abi Obeida al-Fihri captured Syracruse. Word spread that an ancient demon was assiting the arabic invasions and Tsubaki decided to travel once more, though not before a second invasion on the same town a decade later.

Deutschland -- Germany
Almost half a century later, the being travelled to what would later become Germany. During his initial years, he fought in a few battles to help Francia, one of the several tribes that displaced the smaller Germanic tribes that had earlier moved south-west. Of his battles, the main ones were all battles to re-conquer the lands around Rome before Pepin III, then one of the mayors of the palace, alongside his elder and younger brothers, Carloman and Grifo, donated the lands to the pope.
After Pepin's death just over a decade later his sons, Carloman and Charles, split the lands between them and, eventually, Charles became the sole ruler. Afterwards, he launched several campaigns against the Saxons in which Tsubaki participated, causing carnage across the battlefields and earning him the moniker of 'Geflügelten Teufel der Klinge' literally meaning 'Winged Devil of the blade.'
Over the next few decades, the Saxons continued to resist and rebel until they were finally defeated for good after almost half a century. During this time, Tassilo, a duke of the Agilofings family, started a rebellion against Charles only to be defeated in the ensuing battle. Tsubaki's desire to experience a challenge in battle remained throughout the conquests of the Saxons.
After several years of consolodating power and amassing territory with the Franks, Tsubaki decided once more to leave and journey around the world.

Heim -- Home
On his way back east to Japan, he made a stop off in southern Iraq due to mention of a being of pure white energy. He discovered that the rumours were about the Sumerian god, Oannes, the god of light. Suddenly a longing for the presence of his birth-place filled Tsubaki with an old, familiar hollowness. Taking this new information in, he followed the rumours to a hidden temple deep underground in the deserts of Iraq.
The worshippers that visited often meditated or prayed, revering the ancient energy as one of their deities, but Tsubaki could tell by the presence that had somehow found its way to that temple. The yearning that was filling his heart was dissatisfied by simply being in the temple. He wanted something more. He wanted to return. Return home.
He sat and meditated for days. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months and months to years. Before he even realised it, he had sat there for over a century.

Ein neues welt -- A new world
After his extended meditation, the world Tsubaki entered seemed far different to what he had been used to. Science and philosophy were far more prominent than before, especially within the Arabic and Islamic worlds. He wandered the land for a while, heading east - as he was planning to do before his meditations - and passing into Persia; the land that would come to be known as Iran.
He stayed in Persia for a few years, living out his life as a simple swordsmith while he waited for something. Time didn't touch his features, so he had as much as he could possibly need and thus he had learnt to live his life at his own relaxed pace. He'd watched humans go from cradle to grave whilst he simply endured. His existance still, even after all the years that he had endured, held no meaning for him. He knew not why he existed nor whether he had a purpose.
During his time in Persia, around 1014AD, a man named Ibn Sīnā arrived seeking knowledge to write up a 'book of healing.' Tsubaki, having heard rumour of a man holding great knowledge of many subjects, pointed the traveller towards the rumours. Slightly more than a decade later, the traveller died and was buried. Tsubaki took this as his cue to leave, continuing his journey to the east; back to Japan.

Upon reaching China, Tsubaki was greeted by conflict as the Song Dynasty led a campaign against the Tanguts. The campaign, led by Shen Kuo, eventually failed due to a rival officer of Shen disobeying orders, and ended months after he arrived. He decided to settle in China for a while, setting himself up as a swordsmith, much like in Persia. Several decades later a war broke out against the Lý Dynasty of Vietnam. Initially, Tsubaki kept himself away from the fighting, only to be drawn into it as Lý forces inflicted heavy damages in a raid on Guangxi; the province he'd been living in.
While the Lý forces attacked Guangxi, the Song forces pushed into Vietnam as far as Thăng Long, before retreating due to both sides sustaining heavy causualties. Lý commander, Thường Kiệt, called the war off with peace overtures and a few years later, territories were mutually exchanged.
Tsubaki continued to live in various provinces of China, moving around every half-century or so, for around five centuries. During his residence in China, the age of firearms rose, bringing gunpowder-based weaponry into the world. At the beginning of the Shang Dynasty, he travelled back to Japan.

Verlassen -- Abandoned
Tsubaki as a rōnin (浪人)
He arrived in Japan during the early Edo period where he set out travelling as a rōnin(浪人), a samurai with no master. The land was undergoing a change where the Daimyo, governers of specific territories, ruled under the Tokugawa shogunate. Soon after arriving, Christianity began to spread and the country became chaotic, starting with the prohibited trade to Nagasaki and Hirado. A few years later, the Spanish were forced out of Japan then near the end of the decade, thousands of Christians were executed.
By 1635, around 5 years after the mass execution, Japan was introduced with the 'Closed country edict of Japan' a governing law that prohibited any Japanese from leaving Japan or, if someone left, from ever returning. A year later, the Dutch were restricted to a small, artificial island in Nagasaki's harbour. The shogunate gradually began to eradicate Christianity from the country, starting in 1637 and ending in 1660.
During the purge of Christianity, the Portuguese were expelled from Japan, whilst the members of the Portuguese diplomatic mission were executed, an event that Tsubaki was personally present for. Dutch and Chinese inhabitants of Japan were restricted, respectively, to Dejima and a special quarter of Nagasaki and all Japanese were ordered to register at either a Buddhist or Shinto temple.
After the Tokugawa government formed, they set out to pacify the country, forcing samurai to give up their sword and become a peasant or move to the city of their lord and become a paid retainer. Tsubaki, having no lord but unwilling to give up his sword for a peasant life, decided to go into hiding.

Drei-jahren Krieg -- Three-year war
After training in the mountains of central Japan for two centuries, Tsubaki re-emerged and decided to travel back to Europe. He left the island and headed back across to Germany, settling down in the north. Not long after, war broke out between the Danish and German forces, following unsuccessful negotiations over who was to control the Schleswig and Holstein Duchies.
He entered the war with one single purpose; kill. Over the years, he'd accumulated a certain distaste for humankind and their constant power struggles and wars, often resulting in innocent bloodshed. During the skirmishes, he could be seen as the only sword-wielding soldier on the battlefield and he made no distinction of which side the soldiers were from before cutting them down, even after Prussian and Sweden troops got involved.
Eventually the Danish won, and Tsubaki returned to his life in Germany.

Deutsch-Dänischer Krieg -- German-Danish War
Less than a decade later, another war ignited. Prussian forces crossed the border into Schleswig and Denmark fought Prussia and Austria. Similar to the first Schleswig war, the point of conflict was duchies - Holstein and Lauenburg - because of succession disputes when the Danish king died without an heir acceptable to the German Confederation. Also like the first Schleswig war, Tsubaki, now under the moniker of 'Geflügelten Teufel der Klinge', joined in with the skirmishes and made no distinctions of which side his victims were on. The soldiers used the name whilst believing him to be some kind of reincarnation of the original 'Teufel.'
The war ended when the Treaty of Vienna caused Denmark's cession of the Duchies of Schleswig, Holstein, and Saxe-Lauenburg to Prussia and Austria and he returned to Germany before packing up and moving far to the south, to a mountain range on the border between Germany and Austria.
There he trained further for just over half a century.

Führer -- Leader
By the time he left seclusion and re-entered Germany, the country was facing a severe change. Politics, something Tsubaki had never bothered to indulge himself in, seemed to be the cause of much of Germany's problems. He settled down outside of any major town or city, content to live near people once again.
During early 1933, an arsonist attack on the 'Reichstag' building, the building constructed to house the parliament of the German Empire, sent the German citizens into a panic. In response to the fire, a decree granted the political 'Nazi' party the power to imprison anyone not considered 'friendly' to the Nazi cause. Noticing the rather abrupt change in the direction the country was headed, Tsubaki made his way to Russia before settling in what he had known to be called Tsaritsyn but discovered had been renamed to Stalingrad.
A decade later, Stalingrad received several bombings and German forces invaded. The fighting lasted for 6 months, in which time Tsubaki had slaughtered almost 2 million people; neither side seeing reprieve from the slaughter. The Russian soldiers began to call him "Dʹyavol", meaning 'Devil' whilst the Germans used 'Teufel', both of which simply fueled his rage.
By the end of the 6 months, Tsubaki had fled Russia and hid away for the next half-century before re-emerging all over the globe including Japan, England, North America, Russia and China.

Wiedergeburt -- Rebirth
In 2010, Tsubaki was approached by an entity far older than himself. The entity revealed himself to be Immaculus and extended the offer of becoming an inhabitant of his new realm, Impurus. Along with the invitation to join his realm, Immaculus included a permanent home for Tsubaki that he put forward as "No longer having to roam around." Having no other obligations, Tsubaki accepted and began his life as an Impuran.
Tsubaki was involved in many events in Impurus as well as taking part in several wars, encounters and missions. However, a year later, towards the end of 2011, Tsubaki suddenly seemed to vanish from existance, leaving behind no trace or evidence of death nor life. A few months later and 'Isaac Frost' emerged and requested admittance to Impurus' ranks.

Vorläufer -- Forerunner
Isaac Frost: Second fragment of Vorläufer.
With the death of his body, Tsubaki's bond to the physical realm ended. The energy that had been released was drawn out of Earth's atmosphere and back to its origin. Though gone, his memories and experiences assimilated into Vorläufer and another being was born from the same energy. Drawn by the memories, the being retraced its ancestor's path towards the sun and towards the Earth. Once there, the being, then only pure white, formed itself a body much like its ancestor's. It gathered its memories of Tsubaki's travels to Impurus and, after much review, adopted a name. Isaac Frost, was born. He travelled across the world briefly, before finally turning his attention to the one place he knew he would be able to make a home; Impurus.
Das Sieger -- The Victor
During late 2012, Isaac participated in the second 'Breaking Point' tournament, Impurus' annual tournament held within the realm of Annihilation. Of the twelve starting combatants, each were given a number and the numbers were drawn to decide the matches. In the first round, Isaac faced off with Immaculus, the realm's leader. The two fought viciously for a while with neither side gaining a lead for much more than a few minutes and ultimately the round came to a draw when both of them ended up incapacitated. As the matches wound closer to the second round, Immaculus then revealed that he planned to pull one person who had previously been eliminated to even the matches off; one person from round one would have to skip straight to the third round due to a lack of contestants.
As with the first round matches, the numbers of the losers were drawn at random and Isaac was given a second chance at the title of 'Breaking Point Champion'. His second fight was with the small male Kitsune Impuran, Iru Kyatto. The fight dragged on for a long time before eventually Iru yielded. Later, Isaac revealed the fight to be a 'testing grounds' for how much of Tsubaki's raw power he could harness without losing control of himself.
The third and final round was a face-off against the demonic part-dragon, Mirasaki Maebure. Despite Mirasaki's best efforts, his attempts to defeat Isaac seemed unsuccessful, starting with the blast of energy he had attempted to use before being concealed within a dome of pressured water and continuing on through the match. Finally, Isaac bested Mirasaki and thus concluded the tournament, with the title of Champion going to Isaac.
